I started coaching women at the most crazy time of my life: working full-time as a certified athletic trainer & mom to a 10-month old, with a husband deployed & about to leave for 2 years to Texas! LOL
Back in 2015, I had no family help here in AZ (let's be real: family help = free help 😂), and I was teaching group fitness on the side. And I started coaching people online! Not sure why I decided that was the best time to start helping others with their health journey, but it was something I needed to do--for me. (Keep reading--it will make sense shortly 😉)
It was important for me to keep my sanity during those 2 years—no husband to help me on a daily basis, and a son who was diagnosed with developmental disabilities early on meant I was dealing with A LOT!!! After struggling for several months, I came home from work one night, checked in on baby Matthew, then went to my room & proceeded to cry for ~10 minutes. And I'm not a crier...
I realized then that I needed to make all of this work for me--or I was headed for a serious physical & mental breakdown. So I sat down, made a list of priorities, and decided to make my life as EASY & FUN as possible!

ALL these things--plus a host of small, daily habits I developed--got me through the toughest 2 years of my life, and I can now look back on that time as one of growth & happiness!
As I was coming out of my low point & realizing that all it took to "right my ship" was small steps on a daily basis, one thought came to me: SHARE! So that's what I did: I started to share--not only my knowledge but what was actually working for me! I shared with colleagues. I shared with ladies in my fitness classes. And since my family & friends all lived in other places, I decided to share virtually! And that, my friend, is exactly how we got to right here, right now ❤️
The gist of this story is my origins as a health & wellness coach. But the moral is deeper: tell your story so you can INSPIRE others! Your story is not too small, your story is not insignificant--your story is exactly what 1 person needs to hear to make her day better or change her LIFE! I honestly never thought that creating some little "Me Time" Facebook group all those years ago would lead me to what I have the privilege of doing today (quick shout-out to all my peeps who joined that "15 in '15" challenge back in the day!). And knowing you've made an impact on just 1 person's life can be the most rewarding gift you can give yourself--exactly why I started coaching during the craziest time in my life 😊
